The defence hearing of an assault case against former Old Kampala DPC Joram Mwesigye is expected to resume today at Buganda road court.

On December 7th 2016 ASP Mwesigye told the same court that all the charges that were preferred against him in relation to assaulting WBS Journalist Andrew Lwanga were false.

Mwesigye also denied the allegation that he is the one who damaged Lwanga’s Camera and that of New vision journalist Joseph Ssetimba whose kaki trousers were also torn.

ASP Mwesigye is today expected to produce his witnesses before court’s grade one magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu.

The alleged offence was committed on 12/January/2015 at Florina bar and guest house along Namirembe road, during a demonstration by the unemployed youths, who had first gathered at JEEMA Offices in Mengo that morning.
