The Financial Intelligence Authority has secured a financial reporting system to enhance its investigations.
The establishment of the Authority under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2013 was for the prohibition and prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing in the country.
The Authority’s deputy Executive Director Michael Olupot Tukei says the new system will help link Uganda to over 150 financial intelligence institutions around the world and increase real time access to financial intelligence information.
He reveals that the program undergoing configuration should start running live before end of the year.
