The FDC President Retired Col. Kizza Besigye has today appeared before Court on charges related to the Walk to Work protests.
Hearing was first conducted on charges of rioting after a proclamation and inciting violence.
The DPC Kira Road Police Station James Ruhweza testified referring to protests held on 14th April and the case was adjourned until 4th August.
Hearing was also held and concluded on other charges in which he is alleged to have committed a traffic offence.
Two witnesses testified today including Traffic officer Patrick Mawa, and Benard Kirya a CID regional officer, Kampala Metropolitan Region East.
The two accused Besigye of ignoring lawful orders and distracting traffic flow at Wampewo, along Gayaza road during the protests.
The prosecution presented a total of 3 witnesses concluding hearing of the case with submissions set to be made on Monday.
The cases were heard by Grade one magistrate Watyekere Godfrey.
Dr. Besigye has however threatened to sue the government over the different charges he faces.
He says he is being kept in Court, in which he is spending too much time and being denied the right to earn a decent living.
