The FDC Party President Col. Kizza Besigye has been arrested in Kasangati this morning.
Besigye was arrested at Nangabo road, just near his home in Kasangati from where he was walking.
The FDC leader has vowed to continue walking to work even after the walk to work protests have ended, despite a warning the police against the same.
Besigye who was intercepted at the first police road block from his home was driven away in vehicle number UP 1298.
Attempts by the media to follow the police convoy failed after the operatives drew guns, threatening to attack the journalists.
The Police Commander Kampala Metropolitan region Andrew Kawesi says he is being held at Kasangati Police Station.
The FDC Party spokesperson Wafula Oguttu has condemned the manner in which Besigye was arrested, saying it was in total abuse of his rights.
