FDC’s Ingrid Turinawe, Sam Mugumya and Francis Tumwijikye who face charges of treason have been further remanded to Luzira Prison.
The three appeared before the Nakawa chief magistrate Charles Serubuga this morning for mention of their case.
Turinawe,is the head of the FDC women’s league, Sam Mugumya a political assistant to party president Col. Kizza Besigye while Francis Tumwijukye heads the party’s youth wing.
The three are alleged to have held meetings and mobilized other people to participate in activities to overthrow the government.
They are alleged to have conducted activities in the districts of Kampala, Mityana, Hoima and Wakiso.
The trio is also alleged to have had plans to launch persistent riots meant to weaken the government and have it overthrown.
The state prosecutor Mooses Musuda told court that investigations into the matter are still on going. They have been remanded to Luzira prison until 14th November when the case comes up for mention.
