Former Forum For Democratic Change presidential candidate Dr.Kiiza Besigye has again been arrested.

His surprise appearance in the city comes just a day to the swearing in of President Yoweri Museveni.

It triggered excitement from members of public in down-town Kampala causing crowds to surge towards the vehicle in which he was driving as he waved to them.

Dr. Besigye has been under surveillance by police at his home in Kasangati on grounds that the former presidential candidate is a threat to public order.

Security forces were seen dispersing crowds that were waving to Dr. Besigye by beating them up using batons.

In the ensuing chaos Dr. Besiye was arrested by police and reportedly driven to Nagalama Police Station in Mukono district.

The police chief General Kale Kayihura has often warned the opposition FDC against the defiance campaign ahead of President Yoweri Museveni swearing in slated for tomorrow.
