FDC women league leader Ingrid Turinawe has been arrested. She was arrested together with two other opposition leaders at parliament.

She was making her way to the legal parliamentary committee handling the constitutional amendments bill to the west wing of parliament. FDC youth leader, Doreen Nyanjura confirms this.

Earlier two opposition members who included the Lord Mayor and FDC former leader Dr. Kiiza Besigye were blocked from leaving their homes.

The police say that they have information that the two leaders had a plan to engage in violent acts.

The police have blocked former FDC leader Dr. Kizza Besigye from leaving his home.

The operation is being commanded by Division Field Force operations Commander Kasangati police station, Fred Ahimbisibwe who says, they deployed following intelligence reports that Besigye had plans to cause commotion.
