The Forum For Democratic Change is still divided on who to choose as Leader of Opposition.

The largest party in Parliament with 37 MPs is obligated to appoint the Leader of Opposition but a section of its members contend that their candidate Dr. KiizaBesigye won the presidential elections and so cannot be the party in Opposition.

The members led by outgoing leader of opposition WafulaOguttuare now torn between appointing a leader for the 10th Parliament or following the defiance campaign and rejecting the position.

The EC declared that the FDC flag bearer got 35% of the votes in the February polls, losing to President Museveni who garnered 60.7%, but DrBesigye insists their internal tally gave him more than 52% of the votes.

Outgoing Opposition Chief Whip Cecilia Ogwal, says the party met and discussed all sticking issues at a two-week workshop in Mukono but did not resolve not to appoint a substantive Leader of Opposition.

Ogwal and Kasese Woman MP Winifred Kizza are the front-runners for the job while Agago North MP OgengaLatigo stands a slim chance.
