Some members of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change who have expressed interest in running president have criticized the party for raising nomination fees from Shs3 million to Shs5 million.
Three aspirants who have so far picked the nomination forms including Mubarak Munyagwa, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe South, Moses Byamugisha, former youth league leader and Dan Malcolm Masiko say there is no any justification for such an increase.
Specifically, Mastiko says the amount is prohibitive, a claim the party leadership has previously dismissed.

The picking of nomination forms kicked off yesterday and runs up to August 12th before the campaigns begin on 17th ahead of the November election.
For one to contest for the FDC presidency, they must have a minimum of an A level certificate, pay a nonrefundable fee of Shs 5 M and must also be a member of the party, a citizen of Uganda by birth and registered with NIRA, and must not have served two terms in the same office among others.
