Education experts have raised concern that the newly introduced education curriculum for O Level can not be effectively implemented without upgrading the one for Teacher Training Colleges.
In the new curriculum to be implemented by 2017 subjects like biology, chemistry and physics will be combined as sciences while commerce, entrepreneurship, commerce and economics will be merged into business.
Education expert Mr.Fagil Mandy says the implementations of the new curriculum is likely to fail if the ministry does not train enough teachers to enforce it.
Mandy however says the change is necessary since most of the subjects being taught lack the practical skills necessary for learners to fit in the labor market.
