Completion of Entebbe Express Highway is to be delayed for another one year due to unresolved compensation issues.
The 37 km road was meant to be completed by November 2017 at the cost of USD 476 million.
Speaking during media tour of this project this morning, Li Jincheng the project manager at China Communications Construction Company said they have encountered several obstacles ranging from hard rocks to delayed compensation.
He said that currently they are blasting a rock at Nalumunye which is expected to take a full week while compensation for the widening Kitala- state house section has not even started.
He however says that by November this year, section between Busega and and kitala will be complete and ready for use.
He said that this delay has been more on the side of government who failed to compasate people in time.
