Just a day after the ministry of Education ordered Uneb not to hike registration fees, the examinations body says otherwise.
The body has gone ahead to introduce new fees.
According to the UNEB public relations officer, the new fees structures for, Primary Seven candidates will now pay 17,500 from 14,000 while senior four students will now pay 85,000 up from 80,000 shillings
Senior Six students on the other hand will 95000 from 85,000.
Kaheru says this is one of the major sources of revenue for them and the hike cannot be avoided.
He says the previous fees paid by candidates were not enough for setting, marking and processing the examinations which resulted into gaps.
