Uganda has lost one of the only existing 15 Rhinos at a Sanctuary in Nakasongola District.

Angie Genade the Executive Director Rhino Fund Uganda confirmed that a 5 year old male rhino had died due to injuries sustained in a fight with a bull adult Rhino at the Nakasongola based Ziwa breeding sanctuary.

The Rhinos are an endangered species of animals in Uganda with the Uganda Rhino Fund now undertaking a breed and release program for the endangered herbivores.

Uganda Wildlife Public Relations Manager Jossy Muhangi describes the death of the herbivore as unfortunate and a great loss to the country.
