The civil society is advising the Electoral Commission to seek legal advice regarding the city mayoral by-election.
This comes after the commission set April 17th as polling day amid growing criticism by a cross section of Ugandans who have described the process illegal.
The Program coordinator Citizens Coalition for Electoral democracy in Uganda Crispy Kaheru says the commission should have first consulted other stake holders before rushing to release the by election program.
He says with court having stayed all decisions made by the KCCA tribunal and the city councilors to throw out the Lord Mayor, the commission is acting in contempt of court
