The Electoral Commission has denied bribery allegations and reports of missing names from the voters register in the Busia by-election.
This follows reports that yesterday’s exercise was marred by controversy, low voter turn-out and election malpractice.
Cases of missing names on the voters’ register at various polling stations and bribery were reported.
However, the commission’s spokesperson Jotham Taremwa tells KFM that they did not receive any complaint of voter bribery or missing names at the queries desk.

NRM’s candidate Stephen Oundo beat the opposition’s joint candidate Deo Njoki to take up the District Local Council 5 seat after garnering 31, 443votes against 21,844.

The Busia district chairperson’s seat fell vacant after court nullified Adea Ouma over abuse of office.
