The Social Democratic Party is the latest to be added to the list of parties that face de-registration by the Electoral Commission.
This brings the number of parties expected to be de-registered to 11.
According to the Chairman of the Commission Badru Kiggundu, the party is among those that have failed to organize at least one delegate’s conference within five years and has no clear leadership among other requirements.
Addressing a press conference, Kiggundu added that the Commissioner has finished applying to the high court asking to revoke licensees of the political parties
The Social Democratic Party is synonymous with the former Members of Parliament for Makindye East Michael Mabike.
