The East African Community (EAC) through its resource mobilization office is making great strides towards establishing a regional development fund.
The EAC development Fund will among other things address infrastructure development issues and development imbalance among partner states.
The process of establishing the fund that begun in November 2003 is expected to come to fruition soon with discussion on the bill expected to be concluded by end of December.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with KFM, the EAC Secretary General Dr. Richard Sezibera expressed optimism that the bill will be ready to be presented to the East African Legislative Assembly next year.
