The Democratic Party has vowed to block any candidate who will contest for president when they are above 75 years come 2021 should the age limit bill sail through.
Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi was yesterday granted leave by parliament to present a private members bill for a constitution amendment to lift the presidential age limit in the absence of opposition MPs.
The Speaker Rebecca Kadaga yesterday suspended 24 opposition MPs for three sittings while others walked out in protest over the manner in which their colleagues were arrested.
DP Vice President Mukasa Mbidde tells KFM that since majority of the anti-age limit opposition MPs were suspended from parliament, it is evident that the bill will be passed in their absence.
