Women rights activists have petitioned parliament demanding for funding towards the implementation of the domestic violence act.

The activists want more mobilization and establishment of structures to help in the implementation of the act.

Led by the chairperson center for domestic violence and prevention, Tina Musuya, they singled out the current local council leaders that are not respected because they are illegal.

Musuya many women who have petitioned LCS have been failed because the leaders are not recognized

She maintains that the law enforcers also need to understand the law to east its implementation.
