By Damali Mukhaye.

The chairperson of Makerere university academic staff association Deus Kamunyu has vowed to challenge his suspension by the appointments board.

The university appointments board on Monday evening suspended Kamunyu for six months without pay after he lost the case to the university.

Kamunyu tells KFM that it was an unfair verdict because he lost on only one count out of five adding that he will not accept it.

Meanwhile, the staff tribunal has not yet been constituted since the term of the former tribunal expired in March.

Kamunyu was suspended last year by the vice chancellor prof Barnabas Nawangwe over insubordination, inciting violence and speaking ill about the university.

He was reinstated to give a chance to the appointments board to investigate further.
