CSOs accuse caucuses of gagging MPs

Political party caucuses are affecting the independence of parliament.

Civil society organizations are challenging members of parliament to desist from being influenced by their party caucuses while conducting parliamentary business.

The executive director NGO FORUM Richard Ssewakiryana says as the country approaches 2016 elections, members must exhibit independence when making decision.

Ssewakiryana says the civil society now has the duty of continuously engaging Members of parliament to avoid enacting biased laws.
