A crocodile has killed an 11-year old boy in Mayuge District.

The deceased identified as Shafiq Masaba was snatched from Miyanzi landing site in Bugoto parish in Bukaboli sub-county.

The area councilor to the sub-county Majid Kapadu Mukuve says the deceased had gone to fetch water on the shores of Lake Victoria in the area.

He said the crocodile was resting at the shore when the boy stepped on it thinking it was a stone. According to Kapadu, the crocodile turned its head and grabbed the boy, and dropped him in water.

He said some people who were nearby chased the Crocodile forcing it to abandon the boy whom it had killed. Kapadu reveals that the body of the Masaba was recovered.
