The High Court in Kampala has set February 21, 2025, to rule on Molly Katanga’s third bail application.

Katanga, a 55-year-old widow, is accused of murdering her husband, Henry Katanga, on November 2, 2023.

Justice Isaac Muwata rejected her two previous bail applications, ruling that she had not presented sufficient exceptional circumstances to justify her release.

Katanga’s lawyers argue that she needs to attend her trial from home due to serious health issues, including nasal sinusitis, vertigo, breast masses, and hypertension.

However, Justice Muwata dismissed her second application on Friday, stating that her circumstances remained unchanged since the first, and that these illnesses were not new.

Katanga is jointly charged with her two daughters, Martha Nkwanzi and Kakwanza Patricia, who are accused of tampering with evidence.

Her daughters, along with the family’s shamba boy, George Amanyire, and a nursing officer, Charles Otai, are currently out on bail.
