Buganda  Road court chief magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda has ordered police to surrender to court the passport of Frank Gashumba and be handed to him so that he can attend the 20th International Conference on Ecotourism and Biodiversity in Rome following a successful application on March 19th 2018.

However the magistrate dismissed Gashumba’s application to dismiss charges against him on grounds of gross human rights violation reasoning that he has not adduced such evidence for court to dismiss the charges.

Gashumba and his brother Innocent Kasumbaare  facing 26 counts ranging from forgery, uttering false documents, giving false information to the passport control officer and making false declarations. They are also jointly charged with a tour guide from MJ Safaris with  one Isma Kiyingi.

Gashumba is also separately charged with being found in possession of narcotics.
