High court judge Andrew Bashaija has nullified the election of Mohammed Kawuma as Entebbe municipality Member of Parliament.
Kawuma was sued by his political rival Patience Mubangizi of the NRM on grounds that the elections were not free and fair.
Court has ruled that the Electoral Commission failed to collect and safe guard results from 12 Polling stations, which were not included in the votes tallied.
The judge observed that the 8,220 votes leftout have a substantial effect on the final results.
Justice Bashaija has now ordered fresh elections for Entebbe Municipality and the Electoral Commission has been asked to pay the costs of the suit.
Kawuma was declared winner of the election with 10,812 while Mubangizi followed with 8,973 votes.
The Courts have nullified the elections of several other MPs including the FDC’s Dr. Eptait Francis of Ngora County, Fredrick Nkayi Mbagadi of Kagoma County and Tony Kipoi of Bubulo West.
