The Uganda Revenue Authority says the containers that number 1600 have overstayed at the Mombasa port and have become an inconvenience.
The containers have been left uncleared for over four months and URA warns that the Kenya Ports Authority is likely to auction them.
According to the authority’s commissioner Customs Department Richard Kamajugo, the auctioning is intended to create space for other consignments that are arriving at the port.
