City Lawyer indicted in land fraud case

Brominate City Lawyer Bob Kasango has been charged with fraud offenses.

Kasango is accused of forging a sale agreement and stealing 500 million shillings which he took from the account of his client a one Wivine Nyiramana Mukuru Kasango.

He has appeared before City Hall Court grade one magistrate, Moses Nabende following criminal summons that were issued to him last week.

Prosecution led by Peace Ayebale states that on 14 January 2015 at Marble Law Firm offices at Kololo, Kasango forged a sale agreement comprised on plot 30A4 in Impala Avenue Kololo without authority of his client Wivine Nyiramana Mukuru and introduced a different purchase price and payment terms into the agreement.

Kasango has also denied allegations that he stole 500 million shillings from the account of Nyiramana Mukuru which had been paid by a one John Kaweesa.

He has been released on a cash bail of 4 million shillings and to deposit his passport before court and his two sureties were ordered to execute a court bond of 200million shillings not cash, to deposit a land title worth 90 million shillings and academic transcript.

The magistrate adjourned the case until October 27th/ 2015 for hearing.
