City abattoirs have implemented stringent measures to curb the spread of foot and mouth disease.
The disease has hit some districts like Wakiso and Mpigi which government has already placedunder quarantine.
The spokesperson of the city abattoir traders association Wilberforce Mutesasira says no animal without a permit from the district health officials will be allowed into the slaughter house.
He also advises the public to look out for the official veterinary stamps on the beef before buying it.
