The lack of integrity is hindering police investigation of corruption cases in Uganda.
This is according to the Director Criminal Investigations Directorate, Grace Akulo who was this morning speaking at the launch of report on Corruption Perception by Transparency International.
Akulo says the CIID has exceptionally investigated corruption cases and has had many implicated but some people in public institution soften conceal vital information.
The report titled: “As strong as the Weakest Link” gives an overview of the public perception on fight against corruption in the country.
It also states that witnesses are in most cases intimidated while some officials shield those implicated, blocking investigations.
It thus recommends increased public vigilance and involvement in the fight against corruption by supporting the existing anti-graft institutions.
