Kampala Capital City Authority has organized Christmas Bazaar for vendors at Wandegeya market.
According to KCCA deputy spokesperson Robert Kalumba this is the only gazzetted area for the bazaar within the city where vendors can sell their merchandise for a period of December.
He adds on that once they establish public spaces, street vendors and hawkers will be allowed to sell along selected streets.
The traders will also be allowed to sell their merchandise during selected events of the calendar year, similar to a street trade culture popular in Europe and several US cities.
