The national housing and population census has been extended for one day.
The exercise that was meant to end tomorrow will now be concluded on Sunday September 7th.
Francis Mashate the National Census Coordinator at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics explains that the decision follows a review of the situation reports this evening indicating that some enumerators needed more time to conclude the process.
Mashate adds that the decision to have a one day extension was prompted by the heavy rains that have hindered the exercise in many parts of the country.
In some areas like Amuria and Karamoja floods have limited the enumerators’ movement stalling the exercise.
Mashate has called upon all persons not yet enumerated to avail themselves in the remaining two days to be enumerated.
