The national housing and population census exercise comes to an end today with no further extensions.
On Friday, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics announced a one-day extension of the exercise that was meant to end on Saturday because of rains that made it impossible for some enumerators to complete their work.
The National Census Coordinator Francis Mashate now tells KFM that all the households that had not been enumerated have been covered today.
He however says some individuals who may not have been enumerated still have a chance to go the LCs to be enumerated between tomorrow and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Kampala central census district technical officer Patrick Okello tells KFM that 90 percent of the households have been enumerated.
In Lwengo district, the Police are holding 3 members of the same family for allegedly refusing to be counted.
Maria Nalukwago and her two children have shunned the exercise for religious reasons.
The trio is said to belong to the 666 cult that forbids its followers from participating in activities like census.
Like many arrested before, Nalukwago claims that the population and housing census exercise is satanic and those who take part are likely to miss heaven.
The southern region police spokesperson Noah Serunjoji says more than 20 people have been arrested in the districts of Lwengo, Ssembabule and Kalungu for blocking the census exercise.
He says the suspects face charges of disobeying lawful orders and sabotaging government programs.
Twenty other people have been arrested in Ibanda district over the same are yet to be arraigned in court.
