Cabinet has approved a national policy on regional integration.
Information minister Rose Namayanja says the policy is meant to guide the country’s engagement in the East African integration process.
She says it will ensure a more rational cooperation with Uganda claiming its right full share of benefits from the cooperation.
Namayanja adds that the policy will also improve market access and competitiveness of Ugandan firms with in the East African community.
Since 2005 Uganda’s exports to Kenya have more than doubled from $174 million to $385million as a result of the integration.
