Busiu health center IV private wing in Mbale district has been closed following the arrest of two health workers on allegations of drug theft.
The implicated health workers were allegedly using the wing as conduit to sell drugs to patients, private clinics and pharmacies.
Nelson Wamanga, LC3 chairman, Busiu Sub County, said the leadership opted for closure of the unit to halt drug theft by health workers and also restore confidence among the residents.
The district health officer, John Waniaye appealed to the residents to remain calm, saying the district officials and government are doing everything to ensure that there is good service delivery.
