Bukenya angered by Museveni popularization campaign

The former Vice President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya says the current NRM popularization campaign to front President Yoweri Museveni as sole candidate for the 2016 elections is a waste of money.

NRM MPs have been given 4 million for each sub county to back the party’s Kyankwanzi resolution to back President Museveni for a fifth term in office.

Bukenya says the money being distributed should have been ploughed into providing service in the health and education sector, instead of bribing voters.

However, Government chief whip, Justin Lumumba maintains that the funds are sourced from the party coffers and are not taxpayers’ money, as has been portrayed.
