The Buganda Land Board (BLB) Deputy Chief Executive, Bashir Kizito, has called on the government to welcome recommendations as feedback on the ongoing piloting of the National Land Information System public portal across the country.

The government announced the pilot to all its Ministry Zonal Offices (MZOs) to assess the system’s usability and determine its friendliness for ordinary people seeking to verify land title status.

In an interview with KFM, Kizito stated that this would improve service delivery.

“People still believe that the old certificates of land titles are indeed the authentic titles. They don’t believe in the current certificates that are being produced. It is incumbent on government to sensitize the masses,” he said.

He also urged the government to address challenges related to user clauses on certificates of title, which registered owners must obtain from planning authorities.
