The use of the bucket system in Uganda prisons may soon be a thing of the past.
The Prisons force has expressed confidence that the system, which has for years been condemned by the Uganda Human Rights Commission as inhumane, will be eliminated.
The prisons’ spokesperson, Frank Baine admits that though the system is still in place, efforts have been heightened to ensure that modern toilets are built at all prisons units.
Baine however says the system will be eliminated in phases.
