Brig. Tumukunde convicted

Brigadier-Tumukunde

Former spy chief Brig Henry Tumukunde has been found guilty of flouting the army code of conduct.

The General Court Martial sitting at Makindye has however acquitted him on charges of spreading harmful propaganda on grounds that prosecution has failed to prove its case.

The charge for which he is convicted attracts a penalty of dismissal from the army with disgrace or caution.

The court chaired by Brigadier Fred Tolit will determine the sentence at 3:00pm.

Tumukunde’s woes stem from a radio talk show on which he was hosted in 2005.

He is said to have attacked the current government for failure to promote what it stood for when it opted for the bush in the 1980s.
