The government must emphasize the affirmative action policy in hard to reach areas.
Political leaders from Buvuma district are calling on government to set up a fully-fledged boarding secondary school with A level.
The area woman Member of Parliament Jennipher Nantume expresses concern that residents of the 52 islands making up the district are forced to take their children on main land schools because there is no secondary school with a higher level.
She says the available secondary school only teaches upto O Level, asking government to address this if the district’s education quality and standard are to improve.
According to t UACE exam results released last week by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), the district did not get a single first grade.
