The UPDF soldier accused of shooting and killing 10 people has today taken the stand to defend himself.
Private Patrick Okot denied the charges and told court that he also just heard rumors about the shooting.
Okot says he escaped from the barracks soon after the incident, for fear of being penalized following the loss of his gun.
The Prosecution produced 25 witnesses, who accused Okot.
He faces charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery and failing to protect army war materials.
He is alleged to have stormed a local bar in Bombo town council in March this year, randomly shooting at soldiers and civilians.
