The treason case against former FDC presidential candidate Dr.Kiiza Besigye has been adjourned to November 16th.
This is after prosecution led by Deborah Etau asked Nakawa Chief Magistrate Lilian Buchana for more time to carry out further investigations.
Besigye appeared at Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court this morning amid tight security for mention of the treason charges that he is currently battling.
Once the state concludes its investigations, Besigye will be committed to the High Court to stand trial at the next convenient criminal session
The opposition leader is accused of swearing-in himself as president following the disputed February 18 general elections at unknown location.
His alleged swearing-in ceremony was captured on a video clip that went viral on social media on May 11, the eve of President Museveni’s swearing-in function for the fifth elective term in office.
