The trial of Col Shaban Bantariza is expected to kick off today.
The former deputy director of the government Media Centre is charged with fraud.
The trial date was set by the General Court Martial Chairman, following the state’s submission that investigations into the matter had been completed.
The same court also summoned Captain Edison Muhiribwoha who is jointly accused with Col.Bantariza.
While Director of the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi in February 2011, Col. Bantariza received a tractor donated to the institution by the Ministry of Finance but he claimed to have purchased it at 67 million shillings.
He is expected to appear today before seven members of the General Court Martial chaired by Brig.Moses Ddiba Sentongo.
