ARRESTED: Pastor Rapes Women
Police in Gulu district have arrested pastor identified as Prophet Ronny Odur alias Gumkom of Holy power church over rape.
Pastor Gumkom is said to have raped four women who were part of his congregation.
Prophet Odur was arrested following a directive from Gulu LC-V chairperson, Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, who had been invited to attend a meeting organized by senior pastors under their association body of Christ.
The meeting was convened to discipline Prophet Odur for sexually assaulting his female followers.
One victim who preferred anonymity said that Prophet Odur who claimed could heal her from being bare instead raped her in his counseling room.
Pastor King Mwaka, the Chairperson disciplinary committee of born again churches in Gulu, said the move to arrest Prophet Odur was to serve a warning to other pastors in the region who manipulate their congregation towards fulfilling their personal desires.
