The Uganda People Defence Force is once again set to give back to the community and as well as give accountability for its 33 year existence.
This comes as the army prepares to commemorate the Tarehe Sita to be climaxed on the 6th of February in Buhweju.
Announcing the army week’s activities army political commissar Col Felix Kulaigye said they are to include engineering works, health care and rehabilitation of health centres among others.
Tarehe sita, which refers to February 6, 1981, commemorates the first armed attack on Kabamba barracks, starting a five-year guerrilla war that ended with January 26, 1986 takeover of power by the NRM government.
This year’s celebrations are held under the theme: “National consciousness and pan Africanism, the corner stone for African peace, stability and transformation.”
