Ariong Killer Convicted

The High Court has convicted Edson Wako for the murder of Assistant Inspector of Police John Michael Ariong during the 2012 walk to work riots.

Justice Elizabeth Alividza convicted Wako based on evidence of two eyewitnesses who saw him throw a mark span from a building along Ben Kiwanuka Street that hit and killed Ariong.

The judge also based her decision on Wako’s DNA that was found on the killer weapon.

She is to sentence Wako at 12:30 pm today.
