The four Expelled NRM MPs can stay in parliament. This is after the Supreme Court granted them an order quashing the Constitutional Court order throwing them out of the house.
The four filed an application seeking to stay the implementation of the orders of the Constitutional Court that they vacate their seats in Parliament to enable them pursue their appeal.
However six Supreme Court judges led by Wilson Sekkokko said the appeal before them has relevance given the evidence filed to back it.
The justices also issued an order restraining the electoral commission from organizing fresh elections to fill the MPs’ positions.
Only Justice Esther Kisakye differed insisting the MPs should be thrown out.
The MPs are Theodore Sekikubo for Rwemiyaga County, Muhammed Nsereko for Kampala Central, Wilfred Niwagaba for Ndorwa East as well as Buyaga County’s Barnabas Tinkasimire.
