The Police Engineering and Logistics Director Godfrey Bangirana has been asked to get back to duty until his contract renewal request is considered.
Bangirana was last month ordered out of office by the inspector general of police Martin Okoth Ochola following the expiry of his contract on July, 16th 2019.
Ochola directed Bangirana to vacate office with immediate effect as he awaits for a response from the Secretary Police Authority for consideration of his contract renewal request.
According to a July, 22nd 2019 letter from the internal affairs permanent secretary Benon Mutambi, Bangirana’s contract renewal request of two years was well received and a decision is yet to be made.
He however says it has been administratively decided that he stays in office until the renewal of his contract is considered.
Bangirana is accused of allegedly misappropriating over shs 100 billion for the construction of Natete police station and over shs 10 billion he allegedly spent on repairing a grounded police helicopter.
