The UN country coordinator Ahunna Eziakonwa Onochie has asked African leaders to ensure they uphold rights of everyone regardless of their political affiliation.
Her statement followed president Museveni’s remarks that everyone is alive by their own right and no one has a right to take anyone’s life.
Onochie says as leaders discuss issues of the post 2015 development agenda all people including men women and children should not be left out.
Meanwhile, Africa has been asked to increase its level of ambition in the Post 2015 Development Agenda.
The call comes as the African Faith leaders’ Summit on the post 2015 development agenda comes to a close today.
Addressing the religious leaders, the representative of the African Union Special advisor on economic affairs Kapambwe Adriko said from reduction of poverty countries must look at completely eradicating it.
He says other issues to be checked include unemployment, creating a more comprehensive program on social protection and fighting corruption.
The two day summit under the “ theme Enhancing faith communities’ engagement on the post 2015 development agenda” ends today.
