African lawmakers must identify causes of religious violence – Ssekikubo.

African lawmakers must identify causes of religious violence and find solutions to reduce its occurrence.
The call comes from Lwemiyaga county MP Theodore Ssekikubo.

Ssekikubo says legislators should not limit themselves to condemning the violence but engage with leaders of major monotheistic religions on all continents.

He was addressing Members at the Pan African Parliament Ssekikubo on behalf of the Inter – Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy at the Opening of the sixth ordinary session of the 3rd Parliament, held in Midrand, South Africa, on Monday.

The session that opened on 18th May and closes on 29th May is running under the theme “Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063”.

Uganda’s representatives to PAP include Buikwe North MP Onyango Kakoba, Kiruhura MP Beatrice Barumba AND Ngora district MP Jacqueline Amongin.

Others are Kasilo County MP Elijah Okupa and Kibanda County MP Sam Amoti Otada.
