Adjumani district bans alcohol in sachets

Adjumani district local government has banned the importation, brewing and sale of crude liquor in sachets.

The ban has taken effect on 1st January 2017. This directive is contained in a communication to all business operators and the public following an ordinance by the district council.

Speaking to Kfm the Town council LC3 Chairperson Patrick Tandrupasi said the council has also banned the import, sale and consumption of drugs such as Mairungi, Opium and other narcotics.

Tandrupasi also says drinking alcohol will not be allowed before 4 pm adding that all these measures are being undertaken to protect the youths.

He has warned that culprits will be penalized.
